We Say Goodbye...

Today Pierre left our family and headed up to Virginia. The doctor here decided not to do the surgery so another doctor is being located. This was a sad day for us as many tears were shed as memories of the last two months flooded our minds. Pierre touched our lives and many of those around us while he was here...his smile was infectious!

Pierre Is Growing....

Pierre seems to get bigger and stronger everyday. He is doing very well and seems comfortable here with us. He sure does not mind falling asleep in our bed...

Ok..so I was slack and did not get video up last night :-) Sorry about that....here goes:

Pierre Goes for His Consult

Pierre will be going for his consult today around noon. His levels have come up along with his weight. If everything goes well we should know when his surgery will be scheduled.

This is him sleeping last night just before we moved him to his crib. He snuggly has the blanket Kirstin made for him in his clutches. I will try to post some video of him tonight.

UPDATE: The doctor wants to wait a year before doing the surgery due to his low weight. We will have a consult with the doctor who will put him under to see if he concurs. That appointment is in 2 weeks.

Pierre..

Pierre has been doing pretty well since coming back home. He has been eating regularly and sleeps pretty well. This first picture shows him peeking at me around Kirstin's arm..

Pierre Returns From MUSC

Pierre came back from MUSC yesterday with a diagnosis of diabetes
insipidus. Basically his kidneys do not have the ability to
concentrate urine so he excretes large amounts of severely diluted
urine. All of that somehow affects blood pressure and sodium levels.
Keep him in your thoughts and prayers...I will try to get some more
pictures up soon.

Pierre at MUSC

Little Pierre has not been doing well since his arrival. Kirstin took him to MUSC when she noticed he was not acting right, not eating, etc. Apparently he was on the verge of having heart failure due to high sodium levels amoung other things. He is having a battery of tests run on him to try and figure some things out but still needs prayers. There is no word on when he can leave the hospital for now.

Pierre Arrives...

Pierre arrived with us last night around 8:00pm yesterday. He is 4 months old and only weighs 10 pounds!
